After over two years of fighting to save myself from myself; and all that time trying to get sober and get my life on the right track for me and my daughter; today proved all that hard work and dedication does pay off.
I went to court today and got full custody of my baby back. Its been a long hard road but I'm living proof that people can and do change. All of you out there struggling with addiction, don't give up. Miracles do happen and I'm one! #blessed
I’m extra blessed today. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to spend this Christmas and everyday with the ones I love. I wasn't always able to do that because of my own bad choices in life. I wanna say thank you to the LifehouseWV.
Thank you guys for loving me back to life and showing me there was a better way of life. And thanks to my family for never giving up on me. I am so thankful to be sober and spending the holidays in my beautiful home with my beautiful family. Don't stop fighting the fight people, so worth it!!!! #sobrietyrocks
I started using at age 11. I was a full blown addict by age 14. I went to Juvenile detention centers. I went to Highland mental hospital for Suicide attempts. I was blessed to survive several Over doses. Of course, my path to freedom included being In and out of jail a dozen times.
I went to the local 28 day program and then had the luxury of a very limited program where one has a beautiful cottage on site at that same government funded mental health service provider. Last go around, I spent 1 year at the LifehouseWV! They have several sober living houses for the gals and more for the guys but also The Farm! The farm is a remote country setting with about 30 beds for men, where the Big Book (12 Steps) and the Big, Big, Book ( the Word of God) are full time curricula. I spent almost a year there at the female sober living. My sponsor and then ‘ house mother', Kathy is amazing! At the LifehouseWV we are Taught so much and always loved no matter what.
Lost custody of my daughter, of course. But God! I got full custody back now.
Yes, I Still have 4 more years of probation. I am now a 2 time felon unfortunately but alot of good things have still come through for me. I give all thanks to the man upstairs!
